Who builds your website

I'm Artur Ferreira — known as AJ — a Cambridge-based web designer and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) specialist. I run two businesses: AJ Web Design, which builds hand-coded websites for UK trade businesses, and The GEO Lab, a measurement-first GEO research platform where I publish pre-registered experiments on AI search visibility.

AJ Web Design is the trading name of Artur Ferreira, an independent web designer based in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire. AJ Web Design is not affiliated with AJ Web Design Ltd (a separately registered UK company), nor with the web design businesses of the same name in Vancouver, Canada or South Africa.

Every site is hand-coded in HTML — no WordPress, no Wix, no page builders. I write the code from scratch so there's no bloat, no unnecessary plugins, and nothing slowing it down.

Before any site ships, I test it on a real iPhone and Android phone. I check load speed, click-to-call, and how it looks on every screen size. Every site I build scores 95 or above on Google PageSpeed Insights. This one scores 100.

Emily Dowd Fitness — personal trainer based in Cambridge. Mobile-first site with AI assistant for handling inbound class enquiries and booking questions.

Then I build. Design and code in under a week. You get a preview link to check everything before it goes live — nothing is published without your sign-off.
