Landing Page Design for Trade Businesses
Most trade businesses send all their traffic — paid ads, Google searches, word-of-mouth referrals — to their homepage. The homepage tries to do everything at once: explain who you are, list every service, show testimonials, explain your process. It doesn't convert well because it's not built to. A landing page does one thing: turns a visitor looking for a specific service into a phone call or enquiry. That focus is what makes it work.
What goes into a landing page
-
1
A headline that speaks to the visitor's problem
Not your company name. Not "Welcome". The first thing a visitor reads tells them whether they're in the right place. Something like "Emergency boiler repair in Cambridge — available today" converts. "Welcome to ABC Plumbing" doesn't.
-
2
A prominent call to action above the fold
On mobile, the phone number and a "Call now" button are visible before the visitor scrolls. On desktop, the form or contact button is in the top section. People who are ready to book shouldn't have to hunt.
-
3
Trust signals in the right places
Reviews, accreditations, years of experience, service area — placed where a hesitant visitor looks before deciding whether to call. Not in a long block at the bottom.
-
4
Fast load and clean mobile layout
If the page takes more than 3 seconds to load on mobile, most people leave. The page is built with optimised images and clean code — typically under 1 second on a decent connection.
-
5
Schema markup and basic SEO foundations
Correct heading structure, LocalBusiness schema, meta description, and canonical URL — so the page can rank organically over time, not just convert paid traffic.
Who this is for
The landing page service is for tradespeople and local service businesses who want to run Google Ads or improve conversion from a specific service keyword, without rebuilding their whole website. It also works well as a standalone presence for a new service — testing demand before committing to a full site. If you're a plumber wanting a dedicated page for "emergency boiler repair Cambridge", an electrician running ads for "fuse box replacement", or a painter targeting a specific town, a landing page is the right tool. I write the copy based on a short call — you don't need to supply anything.

What clients say
"I was spending money on Google Ads and getting maybe one call a week from it. AJ built a landing page for my boiler repair service and within the first month I was getting 4–5 calls a week from the same budget. The difference was obvious."
Dave H. — Gas engineer, Cambridge
"I didn't have a website at all, just a Facebook page. AJ built me a landing page in a week and now I've got something I can actually send people to. It's got my reviews, my number, and it looks professional. Job done."
Tanya B. — Cleaner, Huntingdon
"Quick turnaround and it actually does what it's supposed to. I get form submissions from it now, which I never got from my old homepage. Worth every penny."
Mark R. — Electrician, Ely
